During a disaster EMS personnel may respond from all parts of the state to assist in emergency evacuations, 911 support, shelter operations, or other needs in impacted areas. The EMS Tactical Operations Center manages the incoming resources and coordinates response to deploy assets where they are needed. Ambulance crews responding under the state surge contract should be familiar with and have the equipment to communicate with the EMS TOC. The EMS TOC Radio Plan outlines the available talk-groups and their appropriate use during an event.
